ABSS Scouting Regiment

The Makassed Islamic Scouts Association is an educational, voluntary, non-political association geared towards the youth, available for everyone regardless of gender or origin, based on the universal purpose of scouting, and the values of the mission statement of the Makassed Association.

The Makassed Islamic Scouts Association deals with the youth affairs based on national, Islamic principles, and the noble scouting teachings. It also allows them to be engaged in real life experiences enhancing their life skills and making them more flexible and creative.

The Makassed Islamic Scouts Association bases its pillars on the following:

  • duty towards God
  • duty towards their country
  • duty towards themselves

ABSS Scouting regiment works on setting plans per year, per semester and per week that include religious, scouting, social and educational topics based on the following age groups:

 The Cubs circle: for boys aged between 7 and 10 years who work on reinforcing talents and self-dependence.

The Flowers circle: for girls aged between 7 and 10 years who work on reinforcing to reinforce talents and self-dependence.

The Scouts circle:  for boys aged between 11 and 14 years who work on reinforcing to reinforce the ability to take responsibility and obey parents.

The Counseling circle: for girls aged between 11 and 14 years who work on reinforcing the ability to take responsibility and obey parents.

The regiments’ most important activities are:

  • Weekly activities for 2 hours related to religious, scouting and educational topics.
  • Organizing seminars and field trips
  • Participating and assisting in all extra-curricular activities organized by the school (events, graduation, seminars…)
  • Organizing developmental activities
  • Organizing the spring and summer camp that include: discovery trips, training sessions, bonfire, artistic and scouting skills
